Metro Animal has compiled this list to inform people, particularly in the St. Louis metro area, about the vast array of companion animal services available. Although we are familiar with many of the groups listed, we do not have experience with every one. It is up to you to determine if an organization or service will fit your particular needs. For example, while most rescue/foster groups are no-kill (limited admission) organizations, you should not assume this if you plan to relinquish an animal, as a few are not.

Metro Animal has included in this directory all groups of which we are aware that provide services to companion animals and their caretakers. The fight to reduce the euthanasia rate in the metro area will take the combined efforts of us all. All of the listed organizations have good intentions; you must find one that fits your philosophy and meets your needs.

Because of the all-volunteer nature of many of these groups, contact information can be very fluid. That's why we include as many URL's, Email, Phone and Snail Mail info as possible. Some groups change information several times a year. We update when we can based on request changes we receive. Metro Animal is all volunteer as well. You will not see requested changes on demand.
